Trump mocked his name at rallies - El-Sayed's reply: "You can just call me Senator"
At campaign rallies in Michigan, President Trump repeatedly mocked Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed’s name - "Abdullah-baba-baba-ba", "Mohammed" - and called him a "jihadist", claims El-Sayed denied. El-Sayed’s answer, at Grand Rapids and again in his victory speech: "You can just go on and call me Senator." On November 3 he defeated Republican Mike Rogers 52.5% to 45.5%, becoming the first Muslim elected to the US Senate.
